Finger knitting

Image
Start with the yarn between the thumb and pointer finger Wrap behind the pointer finger and in front of the middle finger and the pinky                         Wrap behind the pinky, in front of the ring finger, behind the middle finger and in front of the pointer finger. Continue wrapping, alternating in front of and behind fingers until each finger has two loops of yarn in front of them Start from the pointer finger, going towards the pinky finger, place the bottom loop of yarn over the top yarn and over each finger. This will create just one loop on each finger. Continue wrapping around each finger to get 2 loops of yarn on each finger. And tuck each finger from left to right.  To cast off, move yarn from ring finger to middle finger and tuck, repeat across to the pinky and then pull the pinky yarn into a knot. https://youtu.be/h3BEgP5s9Pg

More Character Hats, specialty hats & cowl sets

I think my passion is really turning into hats and ear warmers. And character hats are so much fun! They are almost like a costume and the combinations are endless! I've turned my kids, nieces and nephews into dinosaurs, bears, foxes, Ninja Turtles, and unicorns. I've combined patterns to make whatever features I need. The unicorn hair actually came from an Octopus Pattern. You can embroider on faces or just use felt to decorate. Kids go crazy over these hats and they are just a blast! Matching hats and cowls  For these, I used "Wool-Ease" "Thick and Quick" Yarn hat— https://www.craftyarncouncil.com/sites/default/files/K43_CYC_Knit-Beginner-1-Pompom-Hat.pdf I started to use this same hat pattern, but with bigger needles, thicker yarn, less stitches and sharper decreases CO 40 stitches on 13 circular needles  Ribbing can be done to prevent rolling knit total of 6” and then start decreases knit 2 K2tog 6,8,8,8 Knit row knit 1 k2tog 4,6,4,6 Knit row k2tog 2,3,2...

This pattern took me a whole summer to do, (it took forever and didn’t come out perfect), but I’m pretty proud of it. From the front of the shirt, to the back it’s a rainbow. Based on this pattern https://giftofknitting.com/blog/how-to-knit-a-crop-top-free-knitting-pattern
