Woodland creatures for Baby Mobile

 Woodland Creatures Mobile

When I was pregnant with my 2nd child, I made these Baby Mobile characters to replace the characters on my daughter’s old nursery set. The kids now like to play with the characters and sometimes they even hang them on our Christmas tree

Woodland Creatures for Baby Mobile

Finishing:

Sew buttons for eyes

Embroider faces

Sew backs of animals together

Top/Ears:

your yarn is actually going to be in the middle because these are sewn together in the back. Stuff with your preferred stuffing, leave a cm or so on the top. Sew from middle to left, back to the middle, to the right and finally to the middle again. So basically, everything is double sewed. Then take your tapestry needle down from the crown of the head, through the stuffing, and exit out the back towards the bottom. There will be a “stub” of a tail and you can make a couple of knots at this point. The tail will be covered by a new tail that you will knit. This “stub” will purpose as an attachment point. For the bunny, these shorter ears can be an attachment for longer ears

Bunny tail

Cut yarn and thread needle, tie knot as if to sew, wrap knot into a ball and tie another tightly around the ball, do not cut, instead, thread needle through the bottom back of the bunny sewing on the tail. You can do this or create a pattern Pom Pom tail.
