I made this adorable Elephant Lovey for my niece. I combined a few ideas. Perfect gift for a baby

Elephant Lovie Pattern

Blanket:

CO 4 stitches size 9 needle, size 3 yarn

Increases:

K2 YO knit across

Continue this pattern until 88 stitches are on the needle

Decrease:

K1, K2tog, YO, K2tog knit across

Repeat until 4 stitches are on the needle and BO

Head

Co 6 stitches size 8 needle size 3 yarn

Knit row

Kfb increase to 12 stitches

Knit row

Kfb increase to 24 stitches

Knit row

(K1,kfb) repeat to 36 stitches

Knit row

Kfb, k1 to 54 stitches (6” wide)

Knit rows until the piece is 3” long

K2tog to 36 stitches

Knit row

(K2tog, k1) to 24 stitches

Knit row

K2tog to 12 stitches

Knit row

K2tog to 6 stitches

 

Trunk

I cord—5 stitches

Knit to 3”

(Stop knitting i cord for increases)

Kfb on both ends to 7 stitches

Knit

Kfb on both ends to 9 stitches

Knit

Kfb on both ends to 11 stitches

Knit 3 rows

BO

 

Ears (make 2)

Co 8

Knit row

Kfb on both ends to 10 stitches

Knit row

Kfb on both ends to 12 stitches

Knit 4 rows

K2tog on both ends 10 stitches, next row to 8, third row to 6, etc.

Repeat till 2 stitches left, pull tail through and use end to attach ear

Arms (make 2)

Co 15

Knit 3.5”

(Knit 1, k2tog, k2tog) repeat

(Knit 1, k2tog) repeat, BO and sew edges
